My Town

This is my town.....although we are new here, we are very excited to be a part of a small community...EVERYONE I have met has been more than nice, more than helpful, and it is great! I think sometimes we grow accustomed to our surroundings, and don't really see them for what they are until we step away from them...This move was none the less HUGE for me, for my family, for US...while there have been times that have been difficult, I find myself being very thankful for what has come, what we have done, for the chances in life we have been given. it is now up to us to follow those chances, those opportunities..whether they are new or scary, we will follow them...I have never felt my life be more at ease, until now...when the economy is failing, our finances are not what they were, I find comfort in the choices we have been led to...thankful for my friendships, that in turn have turned me to follow God's lead, not my own. Which can be difficult, but I know He will provide me everything I NEED...the things we may want, come in time...

Some times I am over come with so many emotions, and this blog is who I have to talk to them about...we are still new here....I do still miss my friends and family...I know the relationships and comforts, they come in time...I wish I was more patient, but that has never been a good trait for me...I am a bad "waiter"....I think in this stage in my life, God is teaching me to be more patient...and I am starting to listen....

Happy almost Friday

I miss the River

So back in June, when we drove back to California, we stopped in Lake Havasu for a few days...that was our vacation, and right now I am missing the river.

it is so pretty, the hot wind blowing on your face, the refreshing water when it is super hot out. There is nothing like the river, and that is something I really miss. Our kids have grown up going, since they were babies, they have always LOVED going there. Now it is 18 hours away instead of 5!!

I LOVE seeing these little faces....enjoying the water!!

Thankfully tomorrow is Friday....

A Boy and his Bugs

So we have a lot of Bugs here...unlike California, I told Scott that everyday here in the "country" will be an adventure...So We have been out in the evenings a little, the only time you can unless you'd like to be sweaty...which technically you are still sweaty in the evening, the difference would be is that the sun is not blazing a trail on you...so evenings are better, we bug up...(put on our Off!) and head out!!
So this is what my kids do for fun, yes even the girls, although Scotty is the one who searches them out most..he especially likes praying mantis'....

So the yellow ones name is Banana, the other I don't know, and the mantis is Greeny...pretty self explanatory...the one on his finger, is merely to show the size of this thing...come on really? they are gigantic...the big ones are the only ones that stay still to grab, the young ones jump all over the place!! And YES the mantis picture is taken INSIDE the house today, in which he escaped behind the entertainment center in the den...I immediately found a long poker thing, and had him go out on the other side, in which he was then let go, outside where he belonged in the first place, to be free of his captor, my son..

I would rather end this post on a soothing calming note, rather than picturing those bugs crawling on me in the night, here goes...
Enjoy!

Schlitterbahn Fun

Last month when Nicholas was here, we made a trip to a HUGE waterpark, Schlitterbahn....It is so fun. Typically I am not a water park kinda girl, really at home I would NEVA have gone, they gross me out!! This one is cool for thee fact that the Comal river is near by, like right out back, and they use that water to run throughout the park...no stinky chlorine or chemicals..it is really neat! We have been here once before when we were checking out Texas, Last year...and the kids loved it!!

It is a good 4+ hour drive from home, so we stayed the night and had planned to go the next day as well, then that morning Bellas woke up not feeling good, and neither did Nicholas, so we headed home...I did not take nearly as many pictures as I would have, so here goes....
This I NEVER would have done...For one I am afraid of heights, and the fact that Bella went on it, was amazing! They got to the top, and I fully expected to see her change her mind...but she is a trooper...and I think cause she was with her BIG brother, she was fine...she wanted to go again!! (um...No Thank You!)

When we were in the kids area, they had a water slide for little ones, and Brynne was too young last time, but this time she went right on, Nicholas caught her a few times, then she was on her own!!

more water slide fun....

Then here are a few pics I took of Scotty...

And yet a few more for Fun!!

This post took forever, am off to bed!!
Big Hugs to ya'll

sunsets and wine..

So when I saw my great gurfren Kim..this past week.....I was telling her that we do not have access to Maurice Carie or South Coasts' Muscat Canelli wine...which WE drank and entire bottle of, on our river trip, last year...sitting in 95+ degree heat, at night, we consumed this lovely, fruity, and very yummy wine on the back of our golf cart. When I was home last month, I bought 3 bottles, of which are now gone...No I did not consume them all by myself, well maybe 2 of the 3...

So at Walmart (the only BIG grocery store type place we have, that is somewhat close- if you count 30 minutes as close) I was browsing their selections of wine, and saw my usual Berringer White Zin...and saw this....

It is Barefoot Wine..Moscato, and it is really yummy...So I stocked up and headed home to enjoy..that evening AFTER the kidos were in bed, and i was in the bath....very fruity, sweet...YUM!

Also I snapped a little sunset pic from the front yard, looking to the side of our house....I have yet to see a full rainbow, but with a sky this big, it will happen, if we ever get anymore rain!! haha

Well am awaiting the arrival of an AC guy....i will probably need a glass of Moscato, when he hits me with the bill, better yet, maybe i should drink it before he gets here!! ( I am only kidding!)
Big Hugs...to a Fabulous Monday!

One good thing about rain here....

When we first moved in, it rained, and came down all of a sudden... I had been telling Scott one thing I always remember about going to my grandma's house, was that we would play in the rain when they would have a thunderstorm...well we let our kids out in it, when it came down here. The nice thing here when it rains, it still stays warm, so it's not like they are out in the cold...by far..
I snapped a few of these, they had relay races in the water, that was running through the front of property, it was more like a small river!!

Also this was the 4th of July weekend, and as I drove into our town, I saw this.....

I had told Scott a few times, I gotta stop and get a picture of that before they take it down. I got the picture and I also sat back a moment to Thank God for the place he had led us to live...Thankful for it's smallness, Thankful for their acknowledgement for the brave men and women that protect our country EVERYDAY, and MOST Thankful that they are not afraid to praise the Lord......

What Girls do when the Boys are gone....

So the boys went to California, not only for work but to bring back yet another load of our "stuff"...so I think it was last year for Bella's birthday she was given the Girl Gourmet Cupcake maker...we used it once...

Well we used it today since, they were bored and I told them they could, the night before, hoping they would forget by morning...they however are children, and they remembered, simply because they have nothing else to think about but themselves...must be nice..

Ok so I remember having an easy bake oven, however I do not remember the items I baked tasting so disgusting..chalky, dry..they were gross...but because they made them, they enjoyed them, as I pretended it was yummy..ha..

While they enjoyed it, I survived....

We have done a few things, I will be posting, but not in order...We had Nicholas here, and went to Schlitterbahn ( a huge water park-FUN!) and I have some random pics that are cute...
Have a Fabulously wonderful Wednesday...
