Toothless Wonder

Well Monday Bella came home with one less tooth...She looked like a little jack o'lantern...hee hee..She looked really Cute..however I did not get the camera out to take the picture, figuring I had a little time.

My time ran out...she came home today, missing another tooth!! She is now my toothless wonder!

Funny thing is, that a teacher at school pulled it out, she saw Bella wiggling it, and asked her if she wanted it out, Bella said yes, and out it came! She enjoyed it so much she went back for seconds! Thank You Ms. Hall!!!

I saw Bella walking up to my car in carpool this afternoon, with her hand over her mouth, so I instantly knew something was up...then I saw Ms. Hall in the carpool, I pointed to her, and she started to laugh..I guess she is pretty well known for pulling teeth!

Thankful

Thankful is what I am...for so many reasons in my life, I have been very blessed. Blessed for many reasons, I do not know..But I do know I am a work in progress...

We are hardest on ourselves, especially as moms, there are no rules or guides on how to be a good mom, and that is scary! There are many times a day, that I think I could have done things differently, maybe better than I did..sometimes I am more critical of myself, depending on my mood, or how I feel that day..How I look, or more so how I don't look anymore...Why? Why are we so hard on every aspect of our life? How we live it, who we are, or are not?? Making sure our appearance is good, and trying to uphold that inside our selves...I used to be more that person, where everything was perfect..from the outside..and this was many years ago, and maybe at that time, I thought that was what I was supposed to be..But after many stumbles, falls and bumps in my life, now, many years later in my life, I realize so many new and different things about myself..

Maybe about the person I know I am, and about the better person I want to be, the better mom and wife my family deserves...One who lets go a little more, who laughs a little more, even when we are past our bedtime!!

I always wanted to be a stay at home mom, I never really wanted to be anything else...But there was a time when Nicholas was young, I did stay at home, and then when his dad and I divorced I HAD to go to work..I, to this day remember the first daycare I ever left Nicholas at, I remember the shirt he was wearing, the little backpack he had on, and I remember most of all, what a failure I thought I was, for things not working out with his dad....that the choice of my unhappiness, led me to leaving..led me having to put my son in daycare, and I remember how I agonized and cried a many of nights from that point on...

Looking at those harder times in my life, I realize now God was helping me, helping me see who I was, and who I was going to be...and now am Thankful for that time of my life. That time of my life, good or bad, helped me to be the person I am now...More confident, secure in knowing who I am, how to better myself, and work on things that I want to change, for me..

I also know that no one tells you how hard it is to stay home, and until you are there, you have no idea...Suddenly you are everything all at once, you are the nanny, house cleaner, bill payer, taxi, laundromat, chef...and also someone who is responsible for teaching, loving, taking care of and disciplining your children...there is a lot of weight on your shoulders! it is so not easy, it is the hardest job, with the least pats' on the back... I never knew it would be this hard sometimes....

While now alot of the physical work of chasing babies around and being their sole one to do everything for them, is lighter now, it is still not easy..and I do not think it will be from here on out..With the change in ages you have new worries, new concerns, things that weigh heavy on your heart...worrying about your kids, are they doing good at school, are they well liked, are they kind, do they use the manners I try to teach them, are they helpful to others, are they a good friend?? So many of these things and others are on your mind, they are just now mental work more than the physical...

Before I had kids, I never knew you could love someone so much..While there are days that break you down, there are so many that make up for them..their sweet faces, kind words, silly gestures...those are my rewards, those are my pats' on the back, and when you get compliments on your children, how well behaved they are, how kind they are, those are my rewards, my pat on the back that I am doing a good job, that maybe I am on the "right" track...

All in all, I am plain Thankful...Thankful for being a Believer, Thankful for choosing to find God, Thankful that He has a plan, even when I think I do, His leads me, His guides me in the right direction...His direction..

Birthday stuff and some more cheer...

Friday night Scotty got to pick where we were going to dinner, so we went to Cheesecake Factory..of course I did not mind that one, and might have name dropped a little!! They have some YUM YUM food, very bad for you but yummy...I especially LOVE the white chocolate macadamia nut cheesecake, it is to die for!! Of course I forgot my camera...UGH!! But snapped these when we got home, as I forgot to bring his gift with us to dinner..am really scoring some points eh??

We got Scotty a WII game, PokePark..and a Kung Zhu...Zhu Zhu pets..ok those little thinks make the dog crazy...she wanted to eat them up!!

We had a great night...Lotsa gifts either came in the mail by card or package..I think at times like this, you realize how alone you are...meaning no family here..and it is kind of a bummer. We did not really have a party, you are not allowed to pass out invites at the school, AT ALL! While I know some of the parents, alot I have just talked to casually at football or so...so it was a different birthday this year...but thankful that we are together, that Scotty is doing much better with his arm, and that we are a family...most importantly!!

Saturday we had our last game...actually it was the Orange Celina teams last game, and Bella was able to cheer with the 2nd graders there...we went to Princeton and we won the Superbowl!! the opposing Bonham team did not even score one point!! Go Celina!!

Lastly this is a picture of Bella and her sweet friend Abby...She came over and the girls played at our house...then Bella stayed the night there! They get along really well, and she is such a nice girl, she is always welcome here!!

Well the time change is catching up to me, I feel like I need a nap!!I was up super late and up very early trying to finish my girls outfits for our pictures!! I am beat now!!I am praying the Booey behaves.....
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Happy Birthday Scotty!!

The big 8 is today! happy Birthday to a sweet, smart caring, lovable son!! I could name a ton of things that make Scotty who he is, and how wonderful he is, and I am partial..but they are true!! I am very proud of him, he is a wonderful boy, with a big heart and a great spirit... Thankful for good health and a healing broken arm...Happy Birthday!!

I feel so many things today..feelings of happiness at the boy he has growing up to be, sad that he is growing up and not a little boy anymore...feeling grateful for the many blessings we have been given, thankful for your caring heart, your will to try and accomplishments that you have made...Proud that you are an honor roll student, proud you exceeded our expectations in football, proud that you love God, and Awanas so much..proud that you are a respectful boy with manners, that you are just plain YOU!!

My Scotty

Today Scotty had his arm fixed..meaning they did sedate him at the Clinic at Children's and reset his arm, with a new cast.....He cried, A LOT.

Scott went with him, while I took care of the girls..when I was done dropping off Brynne, I talked with Scott and there was no real reason for me to go there, so I went to do Scotty's birthday shopping, since it is tomorrow...and he has been home all week, I had not had a chance!

So this is just the start of the "signing" of the cast..I am sure there are plenty more to come!!

Again, Thank You so much for all the kind words, and my help out at Children's!! I really appreciate it very much!

Am running Bella out to cheer tonight, the Orange team made it to our Superbowl, undefeated...So Bella said she wanted to cheer with the 2nd grade girls at the final game on Saturday, in Princeton...where ever that is!!

Life doesn't slow down just because you broke an arm...unfortunately!

Tomorrow is the day..

Tomorrow is the day something is going to happen, some how some way, Scotty 's arm is going to be fixed..And I only say this because it will all happen tomorrow at our 2nd opinion visit at Children's' Hospital in Plano. After his initial appointment yesterday, my gut screamed...2nd opinion..So I put out an e-mail asking if anyone could refer an ortho for kids or someone they have personally dealt with...

I got a call from a mom in Scotty's class, who is a nurse, her name is Angie. She and I have e-mailed and had phone conversations, since school started..and we co-room mom the class, bringing Friday snacks and so on..although we have never met..she is a super sweet mom, and asked me to call her friend Rhonda, whose husband is high up at the Children's in Plano...I called.

It turns out she is someone I have actually met and seen around a number of times, her son is in Scotty's class, and she was going to help me...no matter what...

This is only one of the times I have been amazed by the want to help in Texas...the truly sweet people that go out of their way to help you, and they really do not have too....It is amazing and heart touching at all the same time.Thank You to God for bringing our family here..

We discussed what happened, she made a phone call and called me back with the name of someone in charge that could set up the appointment to see Scotty. So today I spoke to that person and whatever the doctor recommends will be done tomorrow...it could be as simple as resetting the cast with a mild sedation or resetting his arm in the hospital with full sedation...but they will do it tomorrow.

To the people who have reached out to me and offered kind words, help and just a listening praying ear...I am VERY thankful to you and please know how you have made this accident a bit more bearable...I am grateful to live in a place where people mean something..someone elses' worries and hurts mean something...and THANK YOU!! Thank you for the new friendships here, the encouraging words from my best friend at home, it all means A LOT to me...

I will update tomorrow, as Scott will be taking him, as I have to take care of Bella and Brynne...and get them off to school in the morning....Most likely I will go to Plano after I drop off Brynne...

Thank You again,

Broken arm update....

Scott took Scotty to an orthopedic surgeon today, to get his arm casted, or so we thought. Turns out the way he broke it, requires surgery. There is a kink in the arm that will not go back by just putting a cast on it. Now surgery, in my mind, requires cutting, stitches and hospitals! It is a little different...basically they need to sedate or knock him out, depending on if we do it in the office or a hospital, and then they push the bone back together the way it is supposed to line up...
So now we have to decide whether to do the procedure in the office or at the hospital...
Please pray for Scotty, please pray that the Lord will guide us in the right direction, and that He will watch over our Scotty and us..

Sick to my stomach...

Tonight was awful! Scotty broke his arm!!!! I was standing in his room, in the closet getting Brynnes clothes for tomorrow, and he jumped onto his bed, like a running start from his door, and slid off the bed....He was crying and jumped up, and I about lost it!! His forearm was bent upwards....I have never seen anything like that! No one in our family has ever broken anything...

Scott took him to the Urgent Care, and was sent home in a sling and with pain meds, they could not cast it, until the swelling goes down..and we call the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow...I am sick to my stomach...I am so sad for him, he was crying alot, and then just kind of stopped, and was quiet..not what I would have expected..at all.

I will post more when I get it all figured out..
Say a few prayers for him, thankfully it is his left arm!

Trick or Treat

Tonight we were invited to my friend Honey & Scott's for Halloween...and we had a great time! A lot of familiar faces, from football & cheer..some new faces too...I am so glad we went! Being new is tough, and I think tougher in a small town, but everyone was super nice and the kids had a blast! They were a little tired, as am I, but they had a lot of fun! We had a casual dinner, and they had some yummy pulled pork sandwiches and lots of sides...I made my buffalo chicken cheese dip, and it was a hit! I text Melissa tonight, missing her and our neighborhood trick or treating, along with the munchies...I missed a little bit of home, my comfort zone...
But this was a great new thing, a way to meet some people, and get to know other ones a little better! Still very Thankful everyday that we are in this new place...

Before we left, I asked my kidos to take a few pics...Ones' mask was unable to be found, one posed nicely, as usual...and one was this...
It is always a Booey...

Before the party....

After the party.....

Happy Halloween!
